All the outpouring of grief on social media about well known people’s deaths. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate people’s work as much as the next person but a lot of the people that are being tweeted or FB’d about have, to all intents and purposes, led privileged lives. Paid well for what they love to do. Sounds good to me. The little people like the women up and down the country who get breast cancer will never get the mention of people in the media. I suppose that’s because we don’t know about them. When very wealthy people get cancer at least they are in a good position to get the required treatment. This is probably making me sound contradictory and mean, but it seems to be such a celebrity/social media world now sometimes it feels like losing touch with the real world.
